Damage you're claiming on insurance
When something damages your house, you're suddenly dealing with an adjuster, a scope of work, and a number — usually for the first time, usually while part of your house is unusable.
We've been through this many times. We document what happened, we speak the adjuster's language, and we do the repairs. And we'll tell you honestly when we don't think it's worth filing.
It doesn't have to be the roof
Roof claims are the ones people expect. They are not the only ones we do.
Storm & Wind
CommonShingles lifted or gone, dented or peeled metal, damaged flashing and vents, siding blown loose. We get on the roof, photograph it properly, and document what the storm actually did.
Water Damage
CommonA burst pipe, a supply line, a water heater — the sudden kind of water release that insurance covers. Flooring, drywall, trim, and paint put back the way they were.
Tree Damage
As it happensA limb or a whole tree on the roof. Structure, decking, roofing, and whatever it took out on the way down, handled as one job rather than four trades you have to coordinate.
A claim doesn't have to involve the roof at all — flooring, drywall, trim, and interior repairs are work we take on their own. If your damage isn't on this list, call and ask.
What working a claim with us looks like
- We come out and look. Free, and before you file anything. We tell you what we see, whether we think it's claimable, and roughly what it would cost if you just paid for it outright — because sometimes that's the better answer.
- We document it. Photographs, measurements, and a written description of the damage and its cause, in the form an adjuster expects to receive it. This is the part that decides how the rest goes.
- We meet the adjuster. We'll be there when they inspect, so what they're looking at gets explained by someone who has been on the roof. If something gets missed, we raise it then rather than after the scope is written.
- We do the work. Held to the same standard as any other job we take, and we deal with the supplement paperwork if the scope turns out to be short.
We'll tell you when it isn't a claim
People call us out for a roof leak all the time, and often enough it isn't the roof. It's the air conditioner — a backed-up condensate line, or an attic unit dripping into the ceiling under it. Or it's a window, with water running in behind the trim and showing up on a ceiling across the room.
That isn't a roof claim, and we say so. We'd rather tell you what it really is than sell you a roof you don't need, and we'd rather you not put a claim on your policy that shouldn't be there.
A claim that shouldn't have been filed costs you more than the repair would have.
Communicated really well. Work was done quickly and professionally. would definitely use again and highly recommend
Reginald WoodardGoogle reviewWhat we don't do
We are a contractor, not a public adjuster or a lawyer. We don't negotiate your settlement for you, we don't file the claim on your behalf, and we won't promise you an outcome — anybody who does is telling you something they can't know.
What we do is document the damage properly, be there when it's inspected, and do the repairs right. In our experience that is what most claims actually turn on.
